Dr. Joseph Waddell


  • Background:
    Dr Joseph C. Waddell is a Postdoctoral Associate at Cornell University, in Ithaca, NY. Dr. Waddell was born in rural North Carolina and grew up in metro Atlanta. He received his B.S. in Biology at Georgia Southern University. He completed a Ph.D. in Conservation Biology at the University of Central Florida, where he carried out research in the Upper Amazon Rainforest with support from the Museum of Natural History (University of San Marcos, Lima, Peru), and the Research Institute of the Peruvian Amazon (IIAP, Iquitos, Peru). From there he traveled further south and worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the Integrative and Computational Neuroscience Department at the Clemente Estable Biological Research Institute in Montevideo, Uruguay (IIBCE), where he gained experience integrating basic and applied biology.
